The Trouser

Unless you were somehow without internet/tv/radio etc for the last few days you will know that the Golden Globes took place this week. Now I'm not really one for watching the show but I stalk the life of the red carpet to see the style and beauty and of course this year didn't dissapoint.

My favourites included Emma Stone in Valentino, Kristen Cavallari in Idan Cohen and Lily collins in Zuhair Murad.

Budget Highlighters

Highlight is without a doubt  my favourite part of makeup. I love a soft dewy glow, makes your skin look so much healthier and younger. I'm always on the hunt for new ones but keep coming back to these same two.
And while I love my Mary Lou from the balm for my kit on clients, the two that are my favorites  to use on myself are actually budgets buys. Both picked up from local pharmacies for around €5. The first is this one by Catrice called High glow mineral highlighting powder in the shade 010 light infusion. This one has a pinky hue to it, which is lovely when using cool colours.

Date Night

Christmas and New Year are well and truely over and we're settling back into normality. After all the chaos of party season I find this time of year is perfect for date nights, some quality time to catch up on each others week etc over a nice dinner or glass of wine.

Thirteen years in I still believe in making an extra effort for date night with my husband. And every good outfit starts with the lingerie. As I once read on my ulimate style icon, Olivia Palermos´ site, "Next to diamonds, lingerie might just be a girls best friend".

Date night doesn't necessarily need to be a dress, I'm not really a dress kind of person. I prefer to put pieces together myself and my personal favourite outfit for date night is a blouse, slighlty unbuttoned with a pretty bra showing and a pair of leather look leggings or a skirt.

Pinafore Revived

My eldest daughter has started school (sob!) and wears the same pinafore that I wore when I was there 25 years ago. Seeing her in it gave me all kinds of nostalgia which I'm guessing is the reason I couldn't pass this little number recently.

Transition Shoes

Autumn/Winter has always been my favourite time of year for style. I'm all for layers upon layers, chunky knits huge scarfs, boots etc. But as much as I love it I don't think we're quite there yet, in ther morning I'm dressing of the middle of Winter and by lunch I'm sweating all my layers off. I'm not quite ready to commit to boots just yet so I'm finding Penneys Brogues and Loafers the perfect transition shoes this year.

I travelled to Portugal for the first time with my family at the end of September to celebrate my mothers big 50th birthday. We stayed in Portimao near the the small town of Alvor. It was such an amazing trip!
